Sonus Faber was founded in Veneto, Italy, back in 1983 by Franco Serblin, who sought to develop an all-in-one system, which would be composed entirely of handcrafted wood. At the time, many systems were componentized and featured brushed aluminum features with veneered MDF panels, but lacked the natural beauty of real wood.
Sonus Faber seeks to provide an accurate reproduction of live performances from each unit. To achieve that, each loudspeaker produced must be as natural sounding as possible. Because each unit is handcrafted, it is easier for the company to focus on performance and clean sound. More importantly, Sonus Faber seeks to infuse classical Italian violin manufacturing traditions into every single enclosure, what results in some of the most luxurious looking and sounding speakers on the market. Today, by focusing on researching and perfecting the sound quality of each unit manufactured, Sonus Faber is able to produce some of the finest Italian loudspeakers imaginable.
